Chloe Weiss, Choral Arts

Chloe Weiss is thrilled to serve as the choral director for Rockville High School; she also teaches the piano, guitar, music technology, and ALO fine arts courses within the music department. Ms. Weiss also music-directs for the spring school musical. 

 

In addition to her work with RHS, Ms. Weiss works with Imagination Stage and Ovations Theatre. Imagination Stage credits include Guys and Dolls Jr., Matilda Jr., Newsies Jr. and Legally Blonde Jr. (counseling staff and stage crew). Ovations Theatre credits include Beauty and the Beast (Music Director/Featured Ensemble). She has previously served as a core member of Shadyside Presbyterian Church's Chancel Choir, a background recording artist for Sophie Shah and Wild Blue Yonder, and the Alto 1 Section Leader for the internationally recognized Heinz Chapel Choir. Her most recent composition, “If Starlight Could Speak”, debuted with Wheaton High School during the 23-24 academic year. Ms. Weiss is a proud member of Montgomery County Educators Association, Maryland Music Educators Association, and American Choral Directors Association.

 

Outside of her musical endeavors, Ms. Weiss enjoys taking care of her (many) plants, getting brunch with her friends, attending the Renaissance Faire, and obsessing over the latest episode of Doctor Who.

Beatriz Barion Fanazeres, Instrumental Music and Band 

Ms. Barion ( or Ms. B, students affectionately call her) is excited to join us this year as the new instrumental music and band teacher. She will be teaching band, orchestra, and jazz band. Ms. Barion is a graduate from the University of Maryland where she studied Music Performance, Music Education, and English Language and Literature. Her primary instrument is percussion which she continues to play in community bands and orchestras.

 

When Ms. Barion isn't playing music or teaching, she enjoys reading and playing video games with her friends.
