General Info

The season begins with Marching Band Camp. Camp always runs 2 weeks, and begins 3 weeks before the first day of school. The first week of camp runs 9am-4pm, and the second week runs 4pm-8pm. Full attendance at camp is mandatory because it’s where we learn the majority of our routines for the season!

For 2016, the first week is August 8-12 (9am-4pm each day) and the second week is August 15-19 (4pm-8pm).

Once school begins on August 29, we rehearse as a full group on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm until 8:00pm. Additionally, the guard and percussion sections will each have a 2-hour sectional every week. We will set the sectional schedule during Marching Band Camp once my guard and percussion instructors have an idea of their fall schedules. Attendance at all rehearsals and sectionals is mandatory.

We perform at all home football games, one away game (TBD), and 2-3 marching band competitions (on Saturdays mid-October through early November). Participation in all performances is also mandatory.

The season ends when the football season ends. The team's regular season usually wraps up around the second week of November. If the team does make the playoffs, then we will continue to perform at all playoff games until their season is done.

There is a $100 participation fee for the season, and there will be some uniform items that students will need to purchase ($50-$100 total). Students will be able to use most of their uniform items for all their years of marching band. The participation fee is charged each season.
