The Landon Sight-Reading Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Paul Scimonelli, would like to invite interested adult, as well as, junior and senior high school orchestra players to participate in a series of sight-reading clinics to be held at The Landon School. Current and former members of the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington area professionals, and local music teachers combine with adult amateurs and high school students in a stress-free, mentoring environment, to read literature from the standard orchestra repertoire.
There are five clinics available and you may attend one or all. There is no fee for these clinics. Clinics are from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
The dates are: October 6, 2009, and November 17, 2009, February 2, 2010, March 16, 2010, and April 20, 2010.
Repertoire for the clinic will be chosen from, but are not limited to, the following:
Bach Orchestral Suites
Beethoven Symphonies #6, 7, and 8, plus selected Overtures
